Marketing with Youtube

 Youtube Marketing

This chapter is rather interesting because in my mind it is very difficult to market with YouTube. Not only do we live in the ad blocker stage where everybody wants to skip ads as quick as possible. Therefore you must present a solution before even showing off your product. I simply do not see the value or return on investment marketing with YouTube. This depends on what you are selling but it still seems unlikely that YouTube would be your priority for this. However, there are 1 billion hours being spent watching videos per day so I do see how one can benefit from marketing efforts on this platform if done in the right place.

In my opinion, the best way to advertise, again depending on your type of product, is not before popular videos but within. If one is selling merch or headphones or whatever it might be. First, find a popular influencer or vlogger who seems to have a similar target audience as you and gift them your product explaining to them your intentions and your why. Paying them incentives or upfront might help but the
idea is that they will mention your product or wear it in the video having people around the world wondering where they got it from and wanting it too. Lots of people purchase goods every day with the only reason behind this purchase being that some "celebrity" had it too.

Of course, one can also market through his or her own channel in which it is key to have an organized strategy and understand the algorithm in which YouTube works. Publishing videos at the right time will be crucial to one's success and posting engaging content that does not get old is also a big part. YouTube has implemented many features that help marketers promote their products, among these being YouTube Live which I think can be utilized in many beneficial ways once your channel has gained a loyal following. YouTube just like any other social media platform can be beneficial to your marketing efforts. But just like every other platform only if utilized correctly. I do believe that it is one of the more challenging platforms to understand but if understood also possibly the best.

  2. I am sure it is an absolute challenge to advertise on YouTube. Constant monitoring is crucial I believe as trends are changing so quickly and you need to be always ahead of things to ride the next wave. I also agree with MJ Zindars that you need to know your audience.
