Marketing with Facebook
In this chapter, we learn to use Facebook in a way that maximizes our success with respect to Marketing. We are introduced to methods and page layouts that have been tested and proven to work with the algorithm of Facebook. This platform can be extremely useful when trying to spread brand awareness/engagement and so a lot of large companies have accounts and personal marketers to keep the customer engaged. This is mainly because Facebook is the largest social media platform with over 2.9 billion monthly active hours. So how do you start?
At first, you must make sure your page looks appealing and draws attention. Do so by having a nice profile picture and background and having some basic information filled out as well. If doing so for a company include hours of operation, location, and add a contact button for customer support. A link to your official website most definitely needs to be easily visible. If you would like to separate yourself and gain a huge amount of credibility you might want to consider completing some tasks for Meta Verification. We also learned that there are some boundaries to keep in mind in order to maximize reach and engagement. Among these are that posts should include no more than 140 words, the facts that GIFs do not work as well as photos and videos, and include 1-3 hashtags. Another thing brought to our attention was to stay connected with your followers, join groups respond to comments, etc. One can find this online as well when working for a big company using the informatics and statistics they provide. Facebook being the biggest social media platform has so many possibilities and endless ways to grow one's business. If one is willing to learn from previous statistics and historical data and use this to one's advantage one can really be successful and see revenue increase exponentially. Again, I believe our Simternship is a perfect simulation of what this would look like in the real world. At least as close to it as possible. Remember that even if they are better, and one should say especially when they are better, competitors provide us with data that is proven to work in our market with the product line we are trying to sell. So adapt their ways and improve upon them to take over the market.
I still cannot comprehend the amount of people who use Facebook on the daily. I also love doing the Sim. It's more like a game to me!!

ReplyDeleteI think the sims assignment is a great way to learn the basics on how to operate a social media platform. It's nice to get used to creating post and learning how to read what time to post, who to target, how much to spend, and lots of other things!
